Frequently Asked Questions

Starting counselling often comes with questions. Here are answers to some of the most common ones.

You don't have to wait until everything feels too heavy to reach out. Counselling can be a gentle place to land when life starts to feel overwhelming, or when you're feeling stressed, emotionally drained, stuck, navigating life changes or relationship challenges, or simply wanting to understand yourself better. It can offer a safe and supportive space to pause, reflect on what you're carrying, explore your thoughts and feelings, and find healthier ways of coping.
The introductory chat is a brief, no-obligation opportunity for us to connect before you decide to begin counselling. It can take place over text or a short call, depending on what feels most comfortable. It's a chance to ask questions, briefly share what brings you here, and see whether we're a good fit to work together.
Not at all. The introductory chat is simply an opportunity to connect. There is no obligation to book counselling afterwards, and we encourage you to choose a mental wellness professional you feel comfortable with.
No. The introductory chat is not a counselling session. It doesn't involve assessment or treatment—it's simply a chance to connect, answer your questions, and help you decide whether you'd like to begin counselling.
The first session is about getting to know you and understanding what brings you to counselling. We'll talk about your concerns, your goals, and any questions you may have. There's no pressure to share everything at once—we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
That's completely okay. Many people come to counselling unsure of where to begin or how to put their feelings into words. You don't need to have everything figured out—we'll explore your experiences together, one step at a time.
Counselling sessions usually last 50 minutes.
Most people begin with weekly sessions, as this helps build consistency and momentum. As counselling progresses, we can adjust the frequency based on your needs and goals.
Yes. Online counselling has been shown to be just as effective as in-person counselling for many concerns. All you need is a quiet, private space and a stable internet connection.
Yes. Everything you share during counselling is kept confidential, except in situations where there is a legal or ethical responsibility to protect your safety or the safety of someone else. These limits to confidentiality will be discussed before counselling begins.
We primarily use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Every counselling journey is unique, so we tailor our approach to your individual needs, goals, and pace.
Yes. We offer online counselling to clients across India as well as Indians and expats living abroad, where appropriate and in accordance with applicable regulations.
